(7slaw.vn) Hanoi, 10 October 2026 – On the 81st anniversary of Vietnam Lawyers' Day (10 October 1945 – 10 October 2026), 7SLAW extends its warmest congratulations to the Vietnam Bar Federation, the provincial Bar Associations, law practising organisations and all lawyers across the country. The occasion invites the lawyers and legal professionals of 7SLAW to reflect on the proud traditions of the profession and to reaffirm their commitment to principled practice as Vietnam continues to build a state governed by the rule of law.

On 10 October 1945, little more than a month after the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 46/SL on the organisation of lawyers' associations. The decree became a landmark, laying the foundation for the right to defence and for the legal profession under the new State. On 14 January 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 149/QD-TTg, officially designating 10 October each year as Vietnam Lawyers' Day. The date also coincides with the Liberation Day of the Capital, giving the anniversary a special significance in Hanoi.

Over the past 81 years, the Vietnamese legal profession has grown from its first lawyers' associations into a professional community active in litigation, advisory work and out-of-court representation, with an expanding presence in commercial and foreign investment matters. Lawyers not only protect the lawful rights and interests of citizens and businesses, but also contribute to the improvement of the legal system and to a stronger culture of respect for the law.

Speaking on this occasion, Lawyer Nguyen Huu Hiep, Director of 7SLAW, said: "Eighty-one years is the journey of generations of lawyers who placed justice and dedication above all else. At 7SLAW, we carry that tradition into every matter we handle: professional rigour, transparency with our clients and adherence to the Code of Professional Ethics. We will keep investing in our people and our knowledge to stand alongside businesses for the long term."
